Why can only local shoppers perform shops?

At Baird Group, we ask that shoppers live within a 90 mile radius of the facilities we are shopping. This is so that we are able to reflect the local market of our clients' organizations. Throughout the year, we have projects that are located all around the United States. When you're registered in our system, you will be notified via email when new shops are available in your area.


How much do shops pay?

•  Phone shops: $8 each

•  Walkthrough shops: $50+ each

•  Patient Visit shops: $150+ each


When will I get paid for shops that I do?

Shoppers are paid on the 5th of each month for shops completed* during the previous month. For example, if you perform a shop on November 15, you will be paid on December 5 for that shop. 

 

*A completed shop has been reviewed twice by our quality assurance team. Please note that shops performed on the last two days of the month are subject to payment on the following pay period. 


How will I be paid?


Baird Group pays shoppers through PayPal.  All Baird Shoppers must have a PayPal account.


Do I need to fill out any paperwork for tax reasons?



You do not need to fill out any tax forms through Baird Group. We pay all of our shoppers through PayPal. As of 2011, we are not required to and do not collect any tax information for any purposes. If you have questions on how PayPal reports this information, you will need to contact PayPal directly.  For more detailed information, please visit PayPal's website.


Do you offer referral bonuses?

Yes! If you refer someone to us who registers, completes their Phone Certification, and at least one phone shop, you will receive a $10 bonus. If that person goes on to complete their On-site Certification (pending background check clearance) and one on-site shop, you will receive another $15 bonus. To refer a friend, fill out this form


Where is the Baird Group located?

The Baird Group's corporate office is located in Fort Atkinson, WI; however, our clients are located throughout the United States. Click here for our mailing address.


Is Baird Group hiring staff?

As a mystery "shopper" for Baird Group, you are an Independent Contractor.

 

The Baird Group mystery shopping division consists of about 10 full-time and part-time employees. All part-time and full-time positions require you to work in our office in Wisconsin. We are not sub-contracting out for scheduling and editing positions at this time.



I want to perform on-site shops. How do I do this? 

There are several prerequisites before a shopper can perform an on-site shop.  First,  complete the virtual Phone Certification.  Second, successfully complete two phone shops, which will be reviewed for quality.  Third, request and complete the virtual On-site Certification shop. Lastly, pass a criminal background check.


How long does the Baird Group On-site Certification take?

The On-site Certification will take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes to complete.


Will I be compensated for taking the On-site Certification?

Yes! After you successfully complete the Baird Group On-site Certification, you will receive a payment of $5 for your time. You will receive this payment via PayPal on the 5th of the following month.


Why are on-site shoppers required to pass a background check?

Because we are sending our shoppers into healthcare establishments where there's access to narcotics, patient and other confidential information, and also because we reimburse any out-of-pocket office fees upon receipt of a documented payment, we require our shoppers to pass a background check. This is mandatory because of sensitivity of the field we specialize in.

How do I join Baird Group?

To register with the Baird Group click here. You’ll be asked to create an account on Baird Group's ClientSmart site. After the registration form is complete, you will receive an email to confirm your registration. The Baird Group ClientSmart site is where you will go to request shops and fill out shop surveys.


Why are shoppers required to become Baird Group Phone Certified before they can start shopping?

Baird Group provides this certification so that you are clear on our unique guidelines in order to be successful from day one. The certification is designed to help you understand the basics of how to utilize our survey tool, the expectations that we have, and how to communicate with us effectively to ensure that you have a positive experience and provide a great deliverable. 


How long does the Baird Group Phone Certification take?

The certification video and survey should only take you about 30 minutes to complete. 


How do I take the Phone Certification?

After registering with us, you will be notified via email whether or not you have been assigned the Phone Certification, based on upcoming or current shop availability. To be assigned to a Phone
Certification, Baird Group either needs to be recruiting for a project we have coming up in your area, or we need to already have a project running in your area. If there are no current or upcoming projects in your
area at the time of your registration, we will hold off on assigning you to the Phone Certification until a new project that you are eligible for is about to begin. Once you are assigned the Phone Certification, you will receive instructions via email on how to complete it. You may also refer to our Guide for Independent Contractors for this information.


Why can't I self-assign myself to shops?

There are several reasons why Baird Group does not allow self-assignment of shops:

  • We want to ensure that local shoppers assess the hospitals and clinics.
  • We want to capture a variety of patient perspectives, making sure that we don't have the same shopper assessing the same location/department repeatedly.
  • Shoppers' ratings and reputations are also considered when assigning shops.
